In a statement, he said the Radio Pakistan was airing its transmission through old A M transmitter. "In this age when modern technologies are continuously pouring in, this transmitter through its 170 feet high mast was covering a radius of 50 kilometres."
He said a five-kilowatt digital transmitter could easily cover this distance with better voice quality.
He said a proposal to replace the transmitter was already under consideration and hoped that the PBC would take up this issue on priority basis to improve the quality of its broadcast.
